A new wildfire crisis in Canada
The atmospheric circulation transported smoke plumes over long distances due to dozen dozens of intense wildfires have been burning across the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. This image, acquired by one of the Copernicus Sentinel-3 satellites on 4 June 2025, shows the smoke cloud from the wildfires in shades of brown, circulating over the Nunavut and the Hudson Bay regions.
